Blackbirds help build new home
An interesting yet trashy read!
Local businessman Gordon McGuinty has written his account of why the Adams Mine landfill site — what was to be the largest waste management contract in Canada —was trashed. This international story promises to be a very interesting read… especially for anyone residing between Toronto, Kirkland Lake, or the northern United States. Penney and Company has been working on this project with Gord McGuinty and Elizabeth Fournier to design the book cover, web site and related marketing materials.

Extra Mile Campaign Launched
This program is all about rewarding our citizens for giving great customer service and getting great customer service. Committee member Bernard Penney sponsored the design of the campaign for 2009 and 2010. If you believe that someone has gone “the extra mile” for you at any time this summer, log on to “gotheextramile.ca” and tell us the circumstances. That person could be the winner of the program’s monthly prizes or the grand prize of $1000!
PenneyandCompany helped re-brand this program in the spring of 2009, allowing nominations 24/7 on-line at the North Bay Chamber’s site. This year, to simplify marketing efforts, the URL has been changed to: gotheextramile.ca
Hospital Run / Walk shaping up for 2010
Penney and Company is a sponsor for this annual run — as well as Bernard will run the 10K again. Penney and Company designed and donated the “Leaf Family” to the marketing cause of the Hospital’s run as part of our sponsorship.
This is a great way to stay active and give to the hospital foundation. I’ll be out looking for pledges again this year, so keep five bucks on you in case I come running by!!!
